I had always carried the familiar red handled Swiss Army knives but some years ago, my brother Tom recommended these. I finally decided to get one. At the time, it was the issue Swiss Army knife. It’s simple, big with strong blades (but not too big for ordinary pocket carrying)and, with only 4 blades, it’s thin enough to carry around but thick enough to make it comfortable when using the knife blade. The large screwdriver blade stays in position when it’s only moved halfway towards being fully opened, a surprisingly useful feature which lets you put a screwdriver into some tight spaces. The awl is a truly serious tool, long and strong enough for the thickest leather. The small screwdriver/bottle opener/wire stripper blade will substitute as a phillips screwdriver and is probably the best can opener on any knife. The knife blade is larger than the red handled knives. The stainless steel blade sharpens more easily than any other stainless steel blade found on non-Swiss army knives but will hold an edge quite well.
This knife doesn’t have magnifying glasses, ballpoint pens,or other gadgets on it but it will do everything you really need it for and will stand up to a lot of use and occasional abuse. It’s a great bargain for a knife.
